My roommate Jo and I are aunties to a beautiful, lightly-fawned, 7 year-old Whippet named Chloe. Chloe was given to us by my brother's roommate. She raised her from a puppy but, along the way, she also gained three Jack Russell Terriers, and it was too much for her. She asked us to take Chloe more than a year ago, saying she'd be the perfect dog for us. We finally caved in a few months ago and now we wish we'd done it much sooner!

She bonded with the two of us very quickly. It helped that she's known us for a long time and now she has two humans devoted to just her!

Her favorite activity is sleeping. She has full slumber-rights to two sofas and her own dog bed, and she has a separate blanket for each one. She get 5 walks a day and a trip to the dog park on the weekend (during which she never leaves our side because she's a bit nervous around other dogs.)

She LOVES to chase cats and we have an over-abundance in our neighborhood. So far, she hasn't caught any, but we're developing very strong shoulder muscles.

She also loves to go for rides in the car. We have to spell out the words W-A-L-K and R-I-D-E or she goes nuts. Her favorite treat is a Pup-Peroni. Yum-yum.

Since we've been lurking on this site, we discovered that Chloe is a little defective. Her ears never dropped and they stand erect. When she's very alert, they even cross and form an inverted-V shape. It gives her lots of personality.

We live in Escondido, CA (San Diego County). We'd love to get together with any Whippets in the area to play. From what we know, Chloe gets along well with other Whippets.

We're also considering another Whippet now and are looking into how to sign up for rescues.
