Midget's Mom a.k.a. Terri Ruhnke

We've been blessed with a whippet/chihuahua/terrier? mix that was found literally in the street. Skin and bones, neglected, eye infection, trick knee and all, we still thought she was the most adorable dog on earth. You can't help but laugh when you see her, mostly white with one brown ear and freckles covering her underside. She is about 2 yrs old, weighs just over 7 pounds, smaller than my two cats. We named her Midget for obvious reasons. Maybe she is actually part Italian Grey, but we'll never know. We live near the New Jersey coast and Midgie hates the cold, but will love the summer. My husband and two daughters have fallen in love with this small bundle of fun (although housetraining is slow going). Since the vet wasn't sure if Midgie was spayed, we had to wait for her season (glad that's over). Now we can get her spayed and licensed and all. The strange thing is that I had been contacting the Whippet Rescue people just before Midget found us. I know she's not pedigree, but I know she is mostly whippet with her long, muscular legs. But where did that curly tail come from?

I'm so glad to tell Midgie's story to people who understand the love of whippets.
