Nick's Mom a.k.a. Kathy Grube
| Hi!! I discovered this board a couple of months ago via a link from Jenn
Beitchman's site (thanks, Jenn). I was happy to find it, since the board I
had been on before was no longer working and I do find that having a friendly
and collaborative place to share information and ask questions adds a lot
to the fun of being a whippet parent.
I live in Seattle with Nick, a three-and-a-half-year-old white and fawn-brindle male whippet. Nick has a kitty-brother, a gray tabby named Sultan, who is the same age. Sometimes I don't think it's clear to either of them that they aren't the same species; they each have their own share of both cat and dog traits. I have just moved into a house and am looking forward to adopting a whippet-sister for Nick. I love to see all of the photos on this site and other sites of whippet families wrapped up in one another and am looking forward to having that happen at my house. Nick is my best bud and my shadow-companion. He exhibits so many of the traits of the other dogs on this board - he's friendly yet protective of me, doesn't want to be in trouble but sometimes can't help be too independent. He's the best cuddler I can imagine and he's so beautiful when he runs that people at the park stop and stare. As much as I love all dogs, whippets certainly are the breed for me!!
