Norm Sunray

My Wife Sharon and myself, a Realtor, have always wanted to own a Whippet, and since seeing a blue, waited till one came up. Sure was worth it!
Last June. we picked up our long awaited 8 week old puppy, Quixand Sunray's Girl Willow, at the Los Angeles airport, our home for the day, as you will shortly read.
We arranged the transfer there as Susan was racing Coda (Willow's dad) that same day, so her husband was kind enough to substitute for the transfer. We arrived at 10.30 am and arranged the event to occur at 1.00 pm. Despite her busy schedule, Susan was actually able to come as well, and I was glad of the opportunity to finally meet her.
When we looked at Willow for the first time, our hearts did a loop, there was no way she was ever going to leave us! She was s'ooo cute! She was sleepy enough to easily place in our carry-on flight bag, which she adapted to, pretty readily. Then we supposedly were to take the 3.00 flight to Vancouver.
Well, this flight was delayed one hour, then another, until it finally arrived at LAX at 6.45pm. We then departed home, only to find that we were too late for final 15 minute fight to Victoria. So we stayed in Vancouver overnight.
Now Willow had been traveling from 1.30 to 11 pm in that carry-on bag and hardly a peep from that poor little mite! What a traveller. When we went thru the various checkpoints, Customs, Security, we had to take out Willow, and the crowd around surrounded us as if it was the return of Elvis! No doubt we aren't the first to get these admiration crowds around a blue Whippet puppy. But how the questions flew. Is it a daschund or is it a miniature Doberman? Anyway it was difficult to put Willow back in the carrier, so we could continue the journey, with people still straining to get a look.
Well, when we got home, talk about a "sleeping tiger". She exploded into the most vital, exciting, chewing whirlwind machine (brag, brag).
Anyway, after that seemingly traumatic day, last June, she adapted beautifully, and is tough enough to not miss her siblings or mum overly much.-----
Soon Willow will be going to the races!.

Thank you
