I do have a history with whippets. As a child my dad had a whippet bitch that he showed and bred several times. So I have had the privilege of being raised with whippets to play with. They put up with all of my antics. One was names "Starwalker" and went absolutely everywhere with me. "Gracie" was my dad's bitch and I went so far as to dress her in my little sister's baby clothes, bonnet and all. Whippets are such fabulous dogs with wonderful personalities, especially to put up with me as a child!

Austin is the sweetest dog. He is very inquisitive, but he does not have the typical wild antics of the whippets. I think this is because his partner at home is a mellow yellow lab and I think her personality has helped keep him from being as wild as some whippets. Austin definitely has his moments however, one of his favorite games is to hold a stuffed animal in his mouth and streak back and forth across the lawn. He is in the process of learning basic obedience and will soon start learning about dog shows (along with me). I am glad to find a place to ask questions and share stories and experiences. I look forward to hearing from everyone!
