Sammy & Willie's Mom a.k.a. Rita
| My name is Rita, and I live in Leesburg with my family, which currently
includes Sammy, the thin white whippet - age 4; Willie, the large black
and white whippet, age 6; and Charlotte, the black pug, age 2. They
are the 3 stooges because they provide us with daily laughs and
entertainment. Sammy we got from a breeder at 5 months. He comes from
Sporting Fields, and had champion parents. He is spastic, friendly, and
runs like the wind. Lately he has been staring at things that are not
there. We think his brains are not much bigger than a walnut. Willie we
got as a rescue when he was 4. His former owner couldn't keep him, and we
are so glad. Willie is a little slow and simple, but he is the love of my
life. I got him a baby blue T-shirt that says "I'm Mama's Dog."
And he sure is. The most gentle, affectionate (and possibly largest)
whippet you've ever seen. His brain is maybe the size of a lima bean. And
Charlotte the pug we got a year ago from a rescue center. She had a
terrible life, and we are so grateful she is with us. She is the clown of
the family, and keeps up just fine with the whippets. She is very smart.
I am one of the original posters on the Whippet Board, and it has been more helpful to me than any breeder, book or vet. I love the board and I love to read about all the other whippets. They are a wonderful, lovable breed. Email: nucarpt@adelphia.net |
