The Soileau Family - 6 members strong (plus fish!). December 2001, Michael and I were married. Soon thereafter, we knew we needed a dog to share our home with the two kitties (Merlot & Cabernet). We spent a lot of time trying to figure out what breed of dog would be most suitable for our household - once we came across Whippets, the search was over. We have fallen in love with these dogs over and over again!
Sophia came into our lives as an 8-week-old puppy. . .so beautiful! Then we noticed that she needed a friend - so we brought Tyler all the way from Tennessee to New Orleans to share our home. They bring so much joy to our lives - as you know, anyone who has the privilege to have a Whippet in his/her life is blessed with a lovely companion.
Sophia loves to keep our yard squirrel-free (she's a great watchdog!), and Ty loves to snuggle. He has the most handsome eyes that will bore right into your soul! They are both planning on being Pet Therapy dogs with the Visiting Pet Program here in our area by the end of 2003. We are looking forward to lots of visits with people who need some extra TLC - Sophie & Ty are the perfect animals for the job!
