ABC a.k.a. Alice
| Hi. I'm Alice, a.k.a. ABC, and I am the proud owner of two lovely and
spoiled whippets. I am 26, former vet assistant, soon to be college grad
w/an English major. My husband and I fell in love with the breed when we
babysat our neighbor's whippet, Wally. We purchased Chillie (FCh.
Carlandria's Fire N' Ice SC), a relative of Wally's, in May, 1997. She was
seven weeks old at the time and was our first dog together (I grew up w/
mixed breeds.) It took us almost a year to find her and one year later she
was winning at lure coursing in a big way. We were complete novices and we
never could have made it if it hadn't been for all of the help from the
experienced lure coursing people (HUGE thanks to Mike, Mike, Karen, David,
Tim, Clarissa, and Donna!) I only wish I was as dedicated as some of those
people are when it comes to traveling across 5 states to get to an event.
My husband was in Law school at the time and we couldn't travel to the far
away events.
Chillie really got us hooked on whippets so we had to get another one, and I wanted a boy to show, so we purchased Justus (Ch. Surrey Hill's Roman Holiday SC) in '98. He was 9 wks. old at the time and he won his first major at his first dog show when he was just 6 mos. old. He finished his championship in no time, and he has turned out to be a decent little straight racer for a show dog! He is a mama's boy and Chillie definitely is a daddy's girl. I hope to get a third whippet (female to love and show; hopefully breeding quality) late this spring. Email: alicenmike@hotmail.com
