Blueberry's Mom a.ka. Sara in Southend on Sea, England
| I have owned Blueberry since he was 12 weeks old, my partner and I were
discussing a whippet called Nick 'O' Lightening that he owned when he was
a teenager, I was intrigued, we rang the UK Kennel Club, who put us in
touch with a reputable breeder who had just had puppies, so we went to see
them, my partner constantly reminding me that we were only looking!!! we
were not having!!!. Needless to say, when we got there and were given a
four week old pup to hold, Blueberry Pie, (who I named when I first saw
him, as he is a silver grey with a dark silver (gunmetal) coloured muzzle
and looked just as though he had stuck his nose in a blueberry pie! the
name stuck!!!) wriggled his way up to my partner's shoulder and started to
nibble my partner's ear, it was love at first bite!!!
Blueberry is definitely at lot bigger now, and has just celebrated his fourth birthday, he has lost none of his charm and appeal, and still nibbles my partner's ears, but no one elses, obviously doesn't like the taste. I have read a lot of articles on other sites about whippets being couch potatoes, a statement I would most heartily agree with, I have never come across such a lazy breed, apart from the mad twenty minute race around the house and garden twice a day, it's like having a small but not quite so destructive tornado let loose!!! If I push him of the sofa, he just grunts, and gets onto another chair, and falls back to sleep! Would I change my whippet?? Never! the next one will be Blackberry Pie, then Apple Pie, Cherry Pie, Strawberry Pie........ lots of love and sniffs Sara and Blueberry Pie. Email: Sara@starfeesh.demon.co.uk |
