Reebok's "Whippet" Model Shoe

Postby NigelNigel-/money » Sat Feb 06, 2010 5:06 pm

As many of you know, my dogs & I compete in agility. I am always on the lookout for good shoes with stability & traction; my last pair were designed for field hockey and had low "pegs" on the sole to help with gripping during turns (soccer cleats are too pronounced). Those wore out & while idly searching for Whippet-related items online I discovered that Reebok makes shoes for lacrosse, and one model is called the Whippet! I purchased a pair not only for the name, but for the features, and although I have only worn them in practice, they seem ideal. Fancy that.

I was curious to see what these shoes. I would buy a pair if they said Whippet and I could just walk around in them. Sadly, these are not shoes suitable for every day wear. Here is a website that shows the shoes.

Nope, they are very specialized and different models have different traction soles. Mine have very low, soft rubber spikes and grippy wedges. Some models have actual cleats like soccer shoes. They are waterproof but breathable. I got mine on clearance sale from Amazon.com. They don't say Whippet anywhere on them, but are suitably sleek and speedy-looking. :) I just think it's funny that Reebok picked that name.

I wore them all weekend at a trial and they are awesome! My feet were dry and comfortable, plus I swear they made me run faster. :)
