Dozer and Opals Mom a.k.a. Dana
| Hello! My husband (Stan) and I are the proud parents of two adorable
whippets.
We did a lot of research on what type of dog would suit us. We had recently lost our Golden retriever, Betsy, after 11 years. Although she had been a wonderful pet, we decided that we were looking for something with a little less hair and just a bit smaller. We finally decided that a whippet would be the best choice. Little did we know what we were in for. Since our area of Michigan is more known for its sporting dogs than anything else, we knew we would have to do some searching. We were fortunate to find a breeder in the state. She was very informative and also wasn't afraid to ask us upfront questions as well. This may have put some people off, but to us it meant that she cared where her dogs were going. A few months later, we took the drive and came home with Dozer. There hasn't been a dull moment since. He is now 18 months old. As Dozer got older we knew he was going need a buddy, so 6 months later we called our breeder and picked up Opal. She was the exact opposite of Dozer when we first got there. She was very shy, where Dozer had been very outgoing. When we got her home she overcame that shyness very quickly. Dozer was thrilled the moment he saw her and they have been inseparable ever since. Opal is now nearly 10 months old. If you'd like to see our kids, here's the link: www.30below.com/~stan/gallery/view_album.php?set_albumName=Whippets Email: edge@30below.com |
