I live in Brisbane, Australia with my sister, 12yo son, two beautiful cats (Katherine & Doris) and our equally beautiful whippets, Koji (m) & Bernadette (f). We were always cat people before we got Koji (in 1997) but after losing two cats on the road we decided to get a whippet, perhaps not the best choice as whippets have no road sense. As most of you know, you can't stop at one so we got Bernadette a year later. Bernie is fawn and very tiny (8.5kgs) often mistaken for an Italian greyhound and Koji is brindle/white and huge (21kgs) and often mistaken for a greyhound.

When I searched the internet for information on whippets, I found that most sites seem to be concerned with breeding, showing, racing or coursing, which is fine but I just wanted to find other people who just have whippets as pets like we do, so I was really happy to find this board. I've already found a few informative posts and I'm sure I'll find many more in the future.

It was very hard to choose pictures of our babies to show you but here are a few. Alex, the kitten, has since died which was heartbreaking for us all, as you can see he was very attached to Bernadette<g>

We rarely see whippets where we live and we'd love to meet other fans of these beautiful dogs.
