Rose a.k.a. Charlotte

I live in West Virginia with my husband and three whippets named Ivy, Jagger, and Riggs. We also have a number of other animals such as a cockatiel, geese, cats and a miniature donkey. I have worked at a veterinary clinic for 15 years and love it.

We use to show Samoyeds. I decided that when they were gone I wanted a breed that was easy to care for, had great temperament, didn't have many health problems and a breed I didn't have to crop ears. I decided on a greyhound because we see a number of rescues in the clinic. Eventually I decided they were bigger than I wanted. Then at a show we saw whippets and fell in love with them. After a year long search for a whippet, Ivy came to live with us. She is a small female, fawn brindle and white. Then a few months later (totally unplanned) we became the parents of Jagger a watermarked male that hadn't made it for show. He was 10 months old when we got him.

In August of 2003 we became the parents of Riggs, a male, dark fawn brindle with white markings. We were on the waiting list for one year for this precious boy.

We love our whippets and think they are the BEST. One of our breeders told us...Shhhhhhhhh,  don't tell anyone how great whippets are. We don't want them to become one of the fad breeds.
