When I lost my beloved Whippet mix, Lira, February 1st 03, I thought I could never love another dog the same way again. She was a wonderful spirit who loved to sleep with me under the covers, watched my every move and was the best ball and frisbee player I've ever known. The day i lost her, part of me died, but I find comfort knowing that she lives on in my heart forever

After her death, I felt void...nothing. I was longing for that companionship that was so tragically taken away. Trying to console my devastation, my husband suggested I check out Whippets. Of course I thought, there's no point..I will never find that human connection again...it's lost forever. But, i took his advice and started my search. Two months later I was sent an email from Summit Whippets about a little girl that was available for pet adoption. Needless to say, I fell in love with her instantly. When i picked her up that day with my Mom in tow, I realized my life could be full again. She is my savior and I am so grateful to have her in my life. She turned a year old January 4th.

Sadie loves to spend Saturday afternoons at the park. She also loves to go on long nature walks where she wishes I would let her off leash so she can catch those tasty squirrels. I haven't introduced her to the beach yet, but plan to soon. She has an older brother Mika (12 year American Eskimo) and an older sister Chess (13 year cat). Whom she loves dearly.
