My name is Loretta and I have owned whippets for the past 20 years. At times we had 5 whippets roaming the house. I own and operate a Dog and Cat Grooming Shop in Levittown, Pa. and our whippets became pretty popular with the customer. Especially Petie, one of our pups born in 86. Petie loved to come to work with me every day. He would jump on the counter and greet everyone who entered. Hw quickly became our P.R. dog as we dressed him in costume for every holiday. He was a good sport and never complained. In Dec. 98 Petie became ill and test showed he had chronic liver disease for which there is no cure. Slowly I watched the light go out of his beautiful whippet eyes and I knew I must put him to rest as it was the best thing I could do for him. I miss him very much. His Mommy "Sunshine " was also the love of my life and we had her with us until last Feb. She was 16 years old when we lost her.

At the moment I am whippetless! I have 2 Italian Greyhounds who are up in age also. So I'm beginning to really miss having a whippet in the house. I am enjoying reading your stories and just all this whippet talk in general. Hope you don't mind if I join you and maybe soon I'll have a new Whippet to tell you about
